Experience

I graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2011 with a degree in Linguistics. My degree also emphasized the teaching of English to those who are not native speakers. A few of the subjects I have taught in the past include reading, phonics, elementary math, test preparation, ISEE, and SSAT. In the past, I have instructed college courses such as vocabulary and writing. I also have a background of tutoring students in the previously mentioned subjects. In order to keep students interested in the task at hand I engage the students with activities. My strategies with reading and comprehension often involve fun stories that will keep the student interested in the topic. Because of my teaching background, I am able to teach students of all ages.Outside of class, I enjoy studying foreign languages such as Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish. I also love to paint and spend time with my family.
