ExperienceAs an advocate of education, I have seen how literature can enrich one's life. As a teacher and tutor, I have witnessed positive growth in my own life and the lives of my students through academic success. I hope to share with my students my appreciation for literature, and its power to open our minds and expand our perceptions. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. My degree is concentrated in Management and Health Policy. I began my teaching and tutoring in college. I gained extensive tutoring experience working with diverse student groups in various environments. I worked with at-risk youth within the Baltimore public high school system. I strongly believe that students should not identify themselves with their test scores. At the same time, the analytical skills that are built through prepping for the writing and critical reading portions of standardized exams are invaluable. These skills are useful throughout life. I am available to tutor varied disciplines of literature, reading, and writing. Aside from tutoring, I enjoy painting, graphic design, and reading. I also play the violin, the viola, and piano. My musical interests are inspired from John Cale of the Velvet Underground.
